The fifth and final question the Partnership posed to Council District One candidates regarded how they would more specifically assist transformation of the Boulevard’s most challenging section from W. 6th to 29th Avenues.

Today’s specific question posed to candidates is:

The most challenging stretch of urban highway in the council district with little city or regional plans or support is Federal between W. 6th and W. 29th Avenues. Along this stretch lies blighted and under-utilized commercial strip development, a light rail station expected to open in early 2013, an archaic arterial cloverleaf, Colorado’s largest public venue home to the Denver Broncos, and a parkway with significant challenges as it migrates north into older and more historic neighborhoods and small business areas. How would you assist the transformation of the Boulevard in this most challenging section?

How Would You Assist the Partnership in Transforming “the Boulevard”?

The fourth question the Partnership posed to Council District One candidates regarded how they would assist the Partnership’s efforts to transform the Boulevard.

Today’s specific question posed to candidates is:

Federal “the Boulevard”, is Denver’s original and most historic boulevard. It served as the City of Highlands original main street lined with a City Hall, churches, schools, businesses and many fine residences. How would you assist the Partnership’s efforts to transform and help realize the Boulevard’s potential as a better place to live, work and play?

Council Candidates to Maintain District Office?

The third question the Partnership posed to Council District One candidates regarded their intensions on having a district office, hours and additional work responsibilities. Those of you who have been around awhile might remember it used to be uncommon for district council members to maintain district-based offices and staff to manage constituent issues and be more accessible to the community.

Today’s specific question posed to candidates is: Will you be a full time council member and maintain a district office? If not, what are your office plans and how many hours per week will you commit to spend on council and district business?
