Watch the Forum Here—Be Ready to Vote!

Monday, April 26th, 2010

A wealth of candidate volunteers, Federal Boulevard community members and candidates attended the Partnership’s Spring membership meeting January 20th at Invesco Field at Mile High. On tap was the last Council District Candidate forum of the special election this spring. Ballots have arrived, voters are voting and the deadline for decision making and ballot delivery is Tuesday, May 4th.

The Partnership video taped the forum and has developed clips of candidate answers in five to 10 minute segments. If you’ve not seen the candidates “in person” or even if you have, here is your opportunity to do it in short clips; categorized by question. Take your pick! During the forum, all ten candidates addressed questions and topics on their vision and future of the Boulevard, the zoning code update process, economic development, city corruption and what makes them and northwest Denver great! Each candidate answered every question posed both by the Partnership and those in attendance, with a one minute time limit, helping the forum “move along”. Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

The fifth and final question the Partnership posed to Council District One candidates regarded how they would more specifically assist transformation of the Boulevard’s most challenging section from W. 6th to 29th Avenues.

Today’s specific question posed to candidates is:

Along this stretch lies blighted and under-utilized commercial strip development, a light rail station expected to open in early 2013, an archaic arterial cloverleaf, Colorado’s largest public venue home to the Denver Broncos, and a parkway with significant challenges as it migrates north into older and more historic neighborhoods and small business areas. How would you assist the transformation of the Boulevard in this most challenging section?
